Technical description
Turbines and generators: Two vertically mounted Kaplan turbines achieve a maximum output of 20,200 kW at a flow rate of 120 m³/sec. and a head of 14.4 metres. The directly coupled 22,000 kVA three-phase synchronous generators supply a nominal voltage of 6.3 kV.
Transformers: The power plant has two 24,000 machine transformers for raising the generated energy from 6.3 kV to 110 kV. The electricity is transmitted via a 110 kV line to the switchgear of the downstream Rosenau power plant. The plant’s own requirements are provided by two 315 kVA transformers that draw the electricity from a 6 kV busbar.
Weir system: Each of the three weir fields is equipped with a 4.5 metre-high base roller gate, a 6 metre-high stop-log as well as a 7.2 metre-high upper roller gate.
