Weyer Run-of-River Plant
is located in the municipality of Weyer in Upper Austria
The Weyer barrage stage lies on the “Weyer bend” of the Enns between the power plants at Schönau and Großraming. The power plant generates an annual average of 160 GWh of electricity from hydropower.
Technical description
Turbines and generators: Two Kaplan turbines with a bottleneck capacity of 36.8 MW generate an annual average of approx. 160 GWh.
Transformer: The plant has a 23,800 kVA machine transformer for raising the voltage from 9 kV to 121 kV. The electricity is fed into the 110 kV Amstetten-Küpfern line of Austrian Federal Railways.

Ecology & environmental protection
A fish bypass for the Weyer location is currently being planned. A feasibility study of ecological measures on the Enns was carried out in 2017 by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (commissioned by: Office of the Provincial Government of Upper Austria, Office of the Provincial Government of Styria, Ennskraftwerke AG and VERBUND Hydro Power GmbH).
