VERBUND's power plant at Bösdornau is a storage power plant located at the valley-facing exit of the Zemmgrund below Finkenberg in the Zillertal Valley in Tyrol. It was built from 1928 until 1930.
An 840 metre-long pressure shaft leads from the Tuxbach power plant to the Bösdornau powerhouse, where the water from the Stilluppbach stream is also guided along a 680 metre-long pressure shaft. Five sets of machinery (two with Francis turbines and three with Pelton turbines) with a total bottleneck capacity of 25,300 kW are installed in the powerhouse. The generated electrical energy is fed into the 110 kV grid via open-air switchgear.
